While sitting in a waiting room anxiously awaiting the arrival of my best friend's first grandchild, I couldn’t help but wonder what is going on in there. I began to think there has to be an easy way for a parent to have a tool to document their journey but also update their family and friends with ease, while not distracting from their beautiful moment.

There is a share child code feature that allows you to send the code you selected at registration with your family and friends. It gives you the opportunity to share updates with only those family and friends that use your code to download the My Birth Journal app.
During your initial login, the app will default to the Share Child Code screen. Select the contacts you wish to share your child code. Once selected, click share child code. Your family and friends will receive a SMS text message with a link to download the My Birth Journal app and your code inviting them to follow your birth journal.
The app is set to default sharing your code by text; however, you can click the share symbol and other options are available to send your code. You can also simply share your code by word of mouth and direct them to the app store to download the My Birth Journal app. Make sure to tell them your code; they will need to add it during the registration process.
If you would like to share with additional contacts at a later time, click the Share Child Code button and follow the same process or just let them know by word of mouth.
The define group option allows you to designate each contact that downloads the My Birth Journal app into a specified group. With this option, you choose which group(s) get notifications. As an example, for more personal or sensitive information, you may only want to share with those contacts you added to your “close family” group.
After you have initially defined your contacts by group, it will be necessary to continue to check the groups to determine if additional contacts have downloaded the My Birth Journal app.
You can also delete a contact from a group at any time by selecting the trash can next to their name and follow the same process above to add them to a new group or back to the existing group if deleted by mistake.
Yes, the contraction tracker allows you to track the number, duration and frequency of your contractions.
The tracker will record the total number of contractions in a daily 24-hour period and resets at midnight. Once you have recorded multiple contractions, the number of contractions, the average duration and frequency are recorded for the past hour.
Yes, the app does have all of those options and also has 7-14-30 day reporting of the entries in the logs so you can determine any trends or patterns.
You simply register with your same email as a new user under the family and friend option with the child code. Once registered, within the app, there is a pink person icon that will allow you to toggle back and forth from your parent to your family friend page.
A user would complete the same new user registration process as a parent if they were a family/friend and were becoming a parent. You would then follow the instructions on how to share your child code with your family and friends to follow your Birth Journal.
Yes, once you have downloaded the app, there is a FAQ under the new user registration link or an FAQ button once logged into to the app
